Real Madrid and Barcelona will continue their battle to win the Spanish top-flight with a couple of games that may not be as easy as they look.

Matchday 19 in La Liga will put an end to the winter break in the Spanish top-flight with much to play for on both ends of the table.

The action will begin on Friday, Real Valladolid hosts Leganés in a clash between two teams trying to avoid relegation. Sevilla and Athletic will also lock horns on Friday, with Los Hispalenses still involved in the title race.

After an early game between Valencia and Eibar, Real Madrid will make their debut in 2020. Los Blancos will only have to travel a few miles to face Getafe, in an effort to end their three-game drought without a win. Later that day, Atlético will want to continue their winning streak while hosting Levante, who are also on a two-game winning run.

Saturday's last game will feature Espanyol and Barcelona in one more edition of the Catalan Derby.  It's been a while since Los Periquitos claimed a win against Barcelona in La Liga, but if they want to keep their hopes of avoiding relegation alive, they need to earn at least one point here.

Without further ado, here's what you need to keep an eye on for Matchday 19 in La Liga.

Coach's quotes ahead of Matchday 19

Real Madrid's boss Zinedine Zidane referred to the team's hoodoo during the first games of the year, such as the one his club will have against Getafe. According to Zidane, this could be the year in which Los Blancos finally claim all the points in their attempt to win La Liga.

"We came back with our hopes intact, we trained properly and we're in top shape. We want to be back on the pitch and that kind of attitude is great to get things goung again. We will try to change that tendency tomorrow," the coach stated.
