The player was close to joining Los Blancos two summers ago, but Zidane's exit prevented the striker's arrival to the Bernabeu.

Real Madrid is still interested in hiring the best players around, but this time, their efforts might not be enough to see this deal fall through.

According to a report by French newspaper Le10Sport, Los Blancos will try to pick up where they left all negotiations two years ago, when the team's hierarchy was set to sign Sadio Mané from Liverpool. All dealings were brought to a halt after Zidane left, but now, with the Senegalese ace being one of the best players in the world, Real Madrid seems determined to make the deal happen next summer.

Mané is under contract with Liverpool until 2023, which will make the deal quite expensive for Los Blancos. Back when negotiations between clubs were taking place, Mané's deal was set to expire in 2020, but a contract extension and the player's status as one of the most relevant footballers for Jürgen Klopp may not make things easy for Florentino Pérez and Co.

Either way, the team has reportedly begun talks with his agent, in order to pave the way for a deal to take place next summer. Honestly, we can't see Mané leaving Liverpool in the near future, but Real Madrid can surely try to take the player away.

The 27-year-old has scored 12 goals in 24 apps for the Reds in all comps, playing a crucial role in the best season in recent memory for the Merseyside club. With that in mind, watching Mané leave Anfield seems not only like a long shot, but also as wishful thinking.
