The Gabonese footballer does not seem ready to stay at the Emirates if there is no European football for the club next season.

Mikel Arteta's arrival to Arsenal could also bring an end to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's stint with the club, especially due to the player's interests and how the club may fail to meet his requirements.

In an interview with TalkSport, club legend Ray Parlour urged Arteta to look after the team's best interest, even if that means having to let Aubameyang go.

"He's got to be 100 per cent behind Arteta as a manger and really give it his all if he's going to stay. But if he's 50/50, 'I don't know whether I'm going to stay or go', he (Arteta) has got to make a decision," Parlour said.

The former midfielder went on to discuss Aubameyang's situation, and while he admitted that the striker does make a difference, there are reasons for him to believe that he will not be able to hold on to his current form for many years to come.

"He's aging, he's 30-year-old now and he's not getting any younger. Are his best days past him? He's an instinct player and he's been brilliant for Arsenal, his goal record is unbelievable. but we've seen in the past some great players leaving clubs because they don't want to stay there, and it'll be no different with Aubameyang and Arsenal," Parlour concluded.

The Gabonese player's future has been under serious questioning since Unai Emery's days at the Emirates, but the team's unfortunate season and Aubameyang's desire to play in the UEFA Champions League might see him leave the club despite still being under contract.
