The Gunners will host the Blues in a highly-anticipated London derby. Check out our match preview for more info.

What is the form of Arsenal compared to Chelsea?

After ending their horrendous winless run earlier this month, the Gunners have returned to old habits and have failed to triumph in any of their last four league games. This means the north London giants boast only a single victory from their last 14 matches in all competitions and have won only three times in their last 17 league outings.

Chelsea’s form at the moment is rather confusing. After putting in a masterclass display away to Tottenham, beating Mourinho’s Spurs 2-0, the Blues then went on and lost 2-0 at home to Southampton. In fact, the London giants have won only two of their last five fixtures in all competitions, losing the other three, and have triumphed only three times in their last nine matches in all competitions.

Arsenal vs Chelsea head-to-head record

The last time these two sides met, Chelsea beat Arsenal 4-1 in the Europa League final. However, despite this, their recent head-to-head record favors the Gunners, with the north London giants losing only twice in their last nine encounters. Furthermore, the Blues have not won in any of their last five trips to the Emirates Stadium (W4, D1).

Team news

Mikel Arteta’s debut game ended in a 1-1 draw but Calum Chambers will be returning to the squad after seeing out his one-match suspension for accumulating five yellow cards. Sokratis picked up a knock in that Boxing Day draw and is thus tipped to miss this clash.

Saka will continue to deputize in the left-back role, with both Tierney and Kolasinac being injured. The jury is out on whether Bellerin is fit to play, as is the same for Martinelli, who missed the midweek trip. Rob Holding and Dani Ceballos both remain on the sidelines.

Lampard will be welcoming a key player of his own from suspension, with Mateo Kovacic returning back after missing the 2-0 loss to Southampton. Reece James, who has been struggling with an ankle injury, will undergo a late test to determine his fitness.
