Nuno Espirito Santo's men turned up to dash the title hopes of the Citizens.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have successfully made their way into the Premier League's record book after registering a win against Manchester City in Friday's clash. The Molineux outfit staged a sensational comeback to secure a 3-2 victory over the Citizens, becoming the only second side after Chelsea to grab six points against Pep Guardiola's side in a single campaign.

Despite City goalkeeper Ederson receiving a straight red card for an early tackle on Diogo Jota, the club from the Etihad took a two goal lead in the first half thanks to a Raheem Sterling double. Nevertheless, Wolves were called right back into action with Adama Traore and Raul Jimenez scoring to tie the game before Matt Doherty delivered the sucker punch in the 89th minute.

In essence, Wolves club to fifth on the league table as a result of the night's outcome and are just two points adrift Top 4. Another significance of their win is that they became only just the second team to complete a league double against a side managed by Pep Guardiola. Chelsea first achieved the feat in the 2017/2018 season.

On a more personal level, among the 35 managers that Pep Guardiola has faced in a minimum of five games in his managerial career, his lowest win ratio is against Nuno Espirito Santo. The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager has only managed just a win in five matches against the Portuguese, signifying just 20%.

Meanwhile, scorer of Wolves' first goal, Adama Traore, became the third player to score three goals in a single Premier League season against Pep Guardiola's Man City after Eden Hazard and Jamie Vardy. Both players achieved the feat in the 2016/2017 season.
