The Welshman could return to the place where he initially made a name for himself.

According to reports coming out of Spain, Gareth Bale is in contact with one Premier League manager ahead of a rumored return to England. That tactician is none other than Jose Mourinho.

Spanish publication El Desmarque write that the Welshman has spoken with the Portuguese tactician in Tottenham’s bid to bring the attacker back to north London. The reasons are obvious: the 30-year-old isn’t enjoying his time in at the Bernabeu and is thus tipped to leave at the first opportunity.

Bale came close to a move to China over the summer but that deal fell apart in the last minute and the door is now shut on the Far East. Here is where Spurs enter the story.

The Premier League outfit are ready to bring him back and are willing to toss Christian Eriksen into the deal. The Danish playmaker is in the final months of his contract and looks ready to leave the club, with Los Blancos being his preferred destination.

Spurs will thus offer Eriksen plus approximately $34M to get this deal done. Real Madrid are expected to accept this bid as they would be rid of Bale and his high wages and would land a proven playmaker along the way.

Despite this, Mourinho recently admitted that his team won’t be able to dominate the transfer market. As a result, the Special One’s main focus is to get the best out of the players currently at his disposal, with a clash with Norwich being their next test.
