The England international has secured another landmark in the top-flight league.

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford surpassed his career-best tally in a single Premier League campaign with his goal against Newscastle on Boxing Day. The 22-year-old English forward was the third player to get on the scoresheet for the Red Devils as they romped the Magpies 4-1 inside Old Trafford.

The game produced shades of what happened in the reverse fixture in October as, yet again, Matty Longstaff grabbed the lead for Newcastle inside the 17th minute. However, that only lasted for a moment as the hosts clinched an equalizer via Anthony Martial just seven minutes later.

12 minutes later Mason Greenwood capitalized on a defensive error by the visitors to fire Manchester United ahead before Marcus Rashford headed home his first of the game in the 41st minute. Six minutes into the second half Anthony Martial put the last nail in the coffin to rehash the Red Devils' dominance.

In retrospect, Rashford took his tally for the season to 11, surpassing his previous best return in a single Premier League campaign of 10 goals in 33 appearances last season. His tally in all competitions this season stands at 15.
