It is no secret that Man City will lose one of the greatest players to have graced their club in the form of David Silva. The Spanish midfield maestro announced over the summer that this will be his final season at the Etihad Stadium, bringing an end to an unforgettable Premier League career.
However, the Citizens now look set to lose another key player once the 2019/20 campaign ends. Riyad Mahrez appeared to leak this information in a video with Sky Sports.
The Algerian, who was accompanied by Benjamin Mendy, was asked who announced during the summer that this will be their final season at the Etihad. The former Leicester City star responded by saying “David and Fernandinho”.
It was interesting to see Mendy’s reaction to Mahrez’s slip, as he smiled awkwardly with an expression that all but said he should not have said that. Watch this incident in the tweet below.

Fernandinho’s future at the club has been a point of contention for a while. The Brazilian midfielder has been another key figure in Man City’s success, especially under Guardiola, but his contract ends next summer and there have no updates on contract negotiations. Given that he is 34, Fernandinho’s time at the Etihad Stadium were already numbered but the club could witness his departure earlier than expected.
