Juventus will be seking revenge on Lazio as they lock horns with the Aquile in the Supercoppa Italiana on December 22, 2019.

Preview: Juventus vs Lazio

Juventus come into this game having won three of their last five Serie A games, but the glaring mark on that record is their 3-1 defeat to Lazio. That's what will be on their mind as they face the Aquile for the second time in just 14 days, and certainly, the Bianconeri will be eager to exact revenge on the team who handed them their first Serie A defeat of the season. Lazio's victory was the first for the capital-based side over Juventus since 2003, and although Maurizio Sarri's men still do have a game in hand due to their partiicpation in this one-off match, it went to show that Juventus indeed can be beaten by teams who have historically struggled against them in the past.

Notably, they were held to a shock 2-2 draw by minnows Sassuolo only a week prior to their loss to Lazio, and although they've since rebounded by defeating Sampdoria, it was a win that came with much more work than fans would have expected. Still, the loss to Lazio remains Juve's only loss in all competitions this season, and they will be loath to allow Lazio to beat them twice in inside a fortnight to clinch the first piece of silverware this season.

Lazio, however, have been in simply excellent form. Simone Inzaghi's side have surged to third spot in the standings thanks to an 11-match unbeaten run, with wins in eight of those. With this being their final game in 2019, can they cap off an impressive first half of the season by winning the Supercoppa Italiana in what would be a repeat of their 2017 victory over Juventus?
