How to watch Bayern Munich vs Tottenham live on December 11, 2019

December 10, 2019 By Ali M.
The German champions are aiming to end their two-game losing streak when they host Spurs. Check out our match preview for more info.

What is the form of Bayern Munich compared to Tottenham?

Bayern Munich head into this clash on the back of back-to-back defeats. Both were 2-1 losses, the first being against Bayer Leverkusen which was followed by the Borussia Monchengladbach defeat. That was their third defeat in 10 games in all competitions and has left the German giants sitting seventh in the Bundesliga.

As for Tottenham, they suffered their first loss under Mourinho in their trip to Man United last week but have turned things around since his arrival. On Saturday, they dispatched Burnley with ease, scoring five without a reply in what was their fifth win in their last seven matches.

Bayern Munich vs Tottenham head-to-head record

The last time these two sides met, Bayern Munich won 7-2 at Tottenham’s home ground, with former Arsenal man Serge Gnabry bagging a super hat-trick. Prior to this, these two sides met four times before across two two-legged match-ups in the 1982/83 European Cup Winners' Cup and then the 1983/84 UEFA Cup. The Germans won the first encounter 5-2 on aggregate (1-1 away and 4-1 at home) but lost the following season’s fixture 2-1 (1-0 at home but 0-2 away).

Preview

Both sides have booked their tickets to the next round and might thus rest key players in this Matchday 6 clash. Harry Kane will not feature in this tie and the same might also be true for Toby Alderweireld, Dele Alli and Son Heung-min.

Spurs will want revenge for the 7-2 embarrassment they suffered at home against Bayern Munich. Given that the Bavarians have lost their last two games, Mourinho might fancy his odds of frustrating the Germans.

As for the home side, their single aim is to bounce back from the consecutive defeats. After winning four consecutive games since sacking Kovac and naming Hans-Dieter Flick as interim boss, things were starting to look up for the caretaker. However, the two recent results will have the board second-guessing the German coach.

Lewandowski failed to find the back of the net in those two defeats but is likely to be rested in this fixture. Benjamin Pavard, Philippe Coutinho and Serge Gnabry should all be available, as well as Boateng and Tolisso.
