Diego Simeone wants reinforcement.

Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are reportedly considering a bid for Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani. Diego Simeone's side is said to be eyeing a swoop for the Uruguayan attacker in the January transfer window with the player also believed to be interested in a move.

Despite their flying start this season, Los Rojiblancos currently rank sixth in La Liga and have recently failed to pick up a win in their last three outings. Despite investing hugely in the attacking department with the record-signing of Joao Felix, the Madrid club has still fallen short in terms of goals. They have scored more than a goal on one occassion in their last seven appearances and currently have Alavro Morata as the only fit striker available.

As a quick remedy, AS has reported that the Wanda Metroplitano outfit is eyeing a move for Cavani. The 32-year-old forward is currently out of favor at PSG following the arrival of Mauro Icardi and Pablo Sarabia this summer and has featured in just nine matches across all competitions this season. He has managed just two goals in the course.

Not too long ago, Cavani's father came out to slam PSG's treatment of his son and advised that he sought move elsewhere in order to win more sliver ware. Back in the summer a report by Cadena Ser also stated that Diego Simeone was interested in bringing the former Napoli star to Spain but only on the condition that Diego Costa left the club.

With the Spanish defender staying albeit injured, Atletico could be moving back for PSG's all-time top-goalscorer.
