A winner will officially be crowned today during France Football's ceremony but an anonymous source claims to already know the result of the voting.

Ballon d’Or 2019 is upon us and fans are eager to see who will be crowned the best player in the world for this calendar year by France Football.

Rumors as to who will win the prize always pop up during the days leading to the ceremony and this year is no different. Several reports claim that Lionel Messi has already beaten Van Dijk and Cristiano to the award, which would make this his sixth triumph in total.

An alleged “leaked Ballon d’Or rankings” that has been doing the rounds on social media appears to confirm Leo as the recipient. An anonymous source posted a picture showing the Argentine toping the votes.

The winner is decided by votes from journalists which will later be converted into points. According to the picture, the Barcelona star has picked up 446 points, 64 more than second-placed Van Dijk (382 points).

Another interesting thing from the “leaked Ballon d’Or rankings” is that Cristiano did not even make the top three. Mohamed Salah allegedly beat him to third with 179 points while Ronaldo settles for fourth with 133 points. See the picture in the tweet below.

Of course, one must take this with a pinch of salt as this is not a confirmed picture. Not everything that makes its way to the Internet is true. All we can do is await an official announce from France Football regarding who will win the 2019 Ballon d’Or.
