The Premier League returned to action on Saturday, with West Ham vs Tottenham kicking off Matchday 13. This was the game where Jose Mourinho made his debut, taking charge of the club for the first game since succeeding Mauricio Pochettino.
And what a debut it was. The Special One left no time in making his mark, guiding the club to a 3-2 win at the Olympic Stadium. Goals from Heung-Min Son, Lucas Moura, and Harry Kane secured all three points.
Late goals from Michail Antonio and Angelo Ogbonna brought the home side within a goal of rescuing a draw but the north London giants saw off the late threat. As a result, Mourinho brought an end to an awful record which began during the latter stages of Pochettino's reign.
Since beating Fulham 2-1 at Craven Cottage in late January, Spurs went on a 12-game winless run on the road in the Premier League. During that run, they earned only three draws and lost the remaining nine games. This means in Jose needed only one game to earn their first away victory since January.

The three points picked up by Jose's Spurs at West Ham today is as many points as Mauricio Pochettino was able to muster in Tottenham's last 12 away matches in the Premier League #PL#WHUTOT pic.twitter.com/Som2rWx1YO

That triumph means Harry Kane and Co. have now climbed to sixth in the standing. However, only three points separate them and 15th-placed Everton which means Tottenham could drop once this round wraps up.
