The player has been excused from his international duties in order to have a medical examination back in Spain.

James Rodríguez will not have it easy to convince Zinedine Zidane to consider him a bit more when it comes to preparing his lineups, especially after picking up another injury during the ongoing international break.

The footballer had been left out of Los Blancos' recent games due to a muscular problem, and now, it seems that the Colombian will have to spend quite some time on the sidelines after Colombia revealed that the footballer will not be playing against Perú due to a sprain to his left knee.

The Colombian National Team determined that James should be excused from his international duties to have a medical examination in the presence of a member of Real Madrid's medical staff. The player had been left out of all call ups after the 2019 Copa América, and he will end the year without playing for his country's side.

James Rodríguez has not been able to play for Real Madrid since October 22, when he made a cameo appearance in the 1-0 win for Los Blancos against Galatasaray. Now, the footballer will have to wait for the medical examination to see when he will be able to play once more.
