The German footballer questioned the Welshman's decision to join his national team right after recovering from an injury.

Gareth Bale has been called up to try and help Wales in their attempt to win a spot in the 2020 UEFA Euro, but some of his team-mates at Real Madrid do not understand his decision.

One of those players that did not hold back when speaking about his team-mates wish to join the Welsh side was Toni Kroos, who found his decision to be rather strange, especially since he has not played a single minute since the last international break, when he picked up an injury with the team coached by Ryan Giggs.

"Well, yes, it seems a bit untimely, especially when you're not playing with your club and when the international break comes, you are fit to play with your national team again. His timing might not be the best. I just hope he is OK when he returns from International Duty," Kroos said.

In the interview with German website Realtotal.de, Kroos also looked into Bale's transfer situation, especially after he was linked to an exit from the Spanish giants in the past few weeks.

"I don't know what will happen. He came very close to leave this summer. It's not easy to keep focused after that, but he seems to be highly motivated. But I still believe that he will be important for us for as long as he stays at the club," Kroos added.
