Current form: USWNT vs Sweden

Reigning champions USA come into this game on a very impressive 21-match unbeaten streak but now are under the tutelage of a new manager. Following Jill Ellis's departure after a very successful reign, Macedonian-born defender Vlatko Andonovski, who spent his career playing for clubs both in Europe and in the United States now has assumed the position as head coach of the most successful side in women's football.

Andonovski, who now also holds United States citizenship, previously coached Seattle Reign FC and won massive praise for guiding them to fourth spot in the NWSL despite having a very thin squad due to injuries and then the 2019 Women's World Cup. Now, however, he will have his toughest assignment yet, and the pressure certainly will be on as he will see his side welcome none other than Sweden for their first friendly match of his new tenure.

The USWNT come into this game having seen their17 game winning streak snapped during a one-all draw with South Korea, but as noted before, are still unbeaten in their last 21 games. In fact, the last team to defeat the Stars and Stripes as France at the start of the year.

Meanwhile, Sweden earned a very impressive third place at last summer's World Cup and will be certainly eager for revenge on the USWNT following their loss to them during the group stage. The Blågult impressively knocked out Germany during the quarter-finals, which was especially notable considering prior to that, they had not beaten Germany in any major tournament since 1991.

Peter Gerhardsson's side are presently ranked fifth and haven't beaten the USWNT since 2016, when they beat them on spot-kicks during the quarter-finals at the Olympics. Will they get revenge on Team USA for their World Cup loss? Or will new coach Andonovski mark his tenure with a decisive victory?
