Chelsea will look to seize control of top spot in their quartet as they welcome Ajax to Stamford Bridge. Live Soccer TV's match preview provides match stats, team news, and global broadcast listings for Chelsea vs. Ajax.

Current form: Chelsea vs Ajax

Chelsea come into this match tied on points with Ajax at the top of their group but ahead on goal difference. It's been an impressive turnaround for Frank Lampard's young side after suffering a shock loss in their group stage opener to Spanish outfit Valencia, but they've turned things around with back to back wins over Lille and Ajax and now will be seeking to take control of their quartet on matchday four.

The Blues really seem to have now found their groove and rebounded well from a disappointing 2-1 reveral against fellow Premier League giant Manchester United in the League Cup by earning a confidence-boosting 2-1 win over Watford last weekend. American star Christian Pulisic continued his hot streak in front of goal, as he netted his fourth league goal in just his past two appearances to help his team earn all three points, while fellow young star Tammy Abraham grabbed his ninth goal of the season which impresively keeps him one behind Leicester's Jamie Vardy and on level with Manchester City's Sergio Aguero.

Having consolidated their spot in the top four for now and presently enjoying a very comfortable six point lead over their struggling cross-town rivals Arsenal who sit in fifth, Chelsea can now focus on trying to secure a place in the round of 16. However, their upcoming opponents have won their last few games since losing to Chelsea on matchday three, and more important, they have managed to win their last four away games in the Champions League against Valencia, Juventus, Tottenham, and Real Madrid.

On paper, the last three on that list certainly looks impressive - although those did come last season. Still, one can't deny that Ajax have been in strong form this term. Their 1-0 loss to Chelsea on matchday three remains their sole defeat in all competitions, where they otherwise have won 15 of their games and drawn the other four.

Team news: Chelsea vs Ajax

Chelsea: N'Golo Kante has finally returned from injury and could thus feature in Chelsea's upcoming game against Ajax. Meanwhile, defender Andreas Christensen and midfielder Ross Barkley have returned to training, but it remains to be seen whether they'll play. However, this game comes way too soon for both Antonio Rudiger and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, who are long-term absentees for the Blues.

Ajax: Both Edson Alvarez and Lisandro Martinez are major doubts for the visitors heading into this clash.
