The Blues could see their ban overturned by CAS, opening the door for signings come this winter.

It’s no secret that Chelsea are under a transfer ban, being prohibited until next summer from signing new players. However, with the Blues growing confident in overturning the punishment, the London giants are now being linked with a mega-money spending spree this January.

The Premier League heavyweights lodged an appeal to CAS regarding the ban and will submit their case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport on November 20. If they win their appeal, the club will be free to sign players as early as this winter.

And according to the Telegraph, Lampard could have a huge transfer chest at his disposal. Reporter Matt Law writes that Chelsea should have $194M ready to spend to reinforce their exciting but inexperienced squad.

Lampard admitted that the verdict to their appeal will affect what they “do in January or not”, hinting he is ready to make signings come winter. One area the English tactician is eager to address is the attack.

One of their targets reportedly is Wilfried Zaha, the Crystal Palace sensation who missed out on a move to Arsenal last summer. The Ivorian is yet to score a goal this season but he remains one of the most skillful wingers in the English top-flight.

Other names on Chelsea’s list are Lyon’s Moussa Dembele and Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho. The later will not be an easy catch as he is one of the most highly-rated youngsters in the world right now and is being heavily pursued by Man United.

Lampard is also eager to address his defense, with the sale of David Luiz and Anthony Rudiger’s injury struggles leaving Frank short on numbers. Leicester’s Ben Chilwell and Bournemouth’s Nathan Ake are two names mentioned in the Telegraph report.
