Florentino Perez doesn't want to break the world record transfer to land the Premier League star and is thus ready to use the Welshman as a makeweight.

Despite their summer spending spree, Real Madrid are reportedly eager to bolster their attack with a Premier League superstar and as was the case before, are ready to offer Gareth Bale as a makeweight.

According to Sky Sports, Los Blancos are eyeing one Man City superstar and that man is none other than Raheem Sterling. The report claims that the Spanish giants’ interest in the Englishman isn’t something new, having attempted to lure him from the Etihad Stadium last summer.

No player has more goals and assists in 2019 than the former Liverpool starlet and he would definitely be a quality addition at the Bernabeu but Florentino Perez knows it would cost an arm and a leg to sign him. Here’s where Bale enters the equation.

The 13-time Champions League winners are said to be plotting to offer the Welshman plus $90M. The Spanish giants will reportedly send representatives to watch Sterling in action in England’s upcoming clashes with Montenegro and Kosovo in this month’s international break.

Sterling reportedly dreams of playing in La Liga but Sky also add that Guardiola and Co. are not interested in acquiring Bale’s services. Furthermore, should the 30-year-old refuse to be part of this player-plus-cash offer, Real Madrid would be forced to break the world-record fee to land the Englishman.
