The French boss left Bale and Modric out due to injury, but he baffled some of his fans with those that will replace them.

Zinedine Zidane knows that the game against Galatasaray is crucial for Real Madrid and to get some breathing space due to the recent criticism he's endured. Even so, his lineup to face the Turkish side raised a few eyebrows among fans and experts, as he chose to leave some experienced players out in favor of some interesting but odd choices for such a big game.

One hour before the game, Real Madrid revealed the starting lineup for Matchday 3's game against the red and yellow side. Fans were aware that Bale and Modric would be out, but instead of using seasoned players such as James, Isco or Jovic, Zidane chose 18-year-old starlet Rodrygo to fill Bale's void, while Fede Valverde will join Kroos and Casemiro in midfield.

Real Madrid will use Courtois under the sticks. Carvajal, Ramos, Varane and Marcelo will occupy their regular spots in defense, with Kroos and Casemiro calling the shots in the team's waist. Up front, Karim Benzema and Eden Hazard will try to team up with the aforementioned Brazilian youngster to wreak havoc at Ataturk Stadium.

"Our starting lineup!"
