The under-fire boss has deemed the game against Liverpool to be 'crucial' not only for the team, but for his future as boss.

If things keep going the way they are at Manchester United, coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to make harsh decisions...even if they mean he will not be around anymore.

According to a report by the Metro, the Norwegian tactician has highlighted Sunday's match against Liverpool as crucial, especially due to the team's poor start of the season.

Sources close to the boss have hinted that, due to Solskjaer's love for Manchester United, he is ready to step down as the team's coach if he can't find a way to beat Liverpool, a team that is yet to lose a Premier League game this season.

Solskjaer's inner circle has revealed that the coach is still confident about his chances of turning things around, but in the event of a heavy loss against the league leaders, he would consider stepping down "out of respect for the team's supporters," according to the newspaper's sources.

The Norwegian boss would take this approach before Manchester United's board decides to sack him in the event of a loss against Liverpool.

The former striker has been in charge of the team's managerial duties for 40 games, with 19 of those ending in a win. Nevertheless, he has failed to impress fans and experts since the team's win against PSG in the UEFA Champions League, and the team's start of the season is one of the worst in club history since the birth of the Premier League.
