The Uruguayan side will want some payback after the Peruvian team eliminated them from the 2019 Copa América.

One of the most exciting games that will take place this week is the one between Uruguay and Peru, two bitter South American rivals that have some unfinished business between them.

These teams have scheduled one more game against each other in the ongoing international break, which will raise their overall tally in 2019 to three games. The first clash between these sides took place in the 2019 Copa América, with Perú claiming the win after penalties in the Quarterfinal stage of the competition.

Uruguay will be playing their tenth game this year. The Celeste side is yet to lose a game during regulation, as they have won six and drawn four. On the other hand, Perú will be playing their 13th game this year, with five wins, five losses and three draws so far.

Peru and Uruguay will play their 66th game in history, which comes as no surprise considering that they are enlisted in the same confederation. Uruguay's side will not have either Luis Suárez or Edinson Cavani, which will leave all goalscoring duties to Jonathan Rodríguez, Maxi Gómez and Darwin Núñez. Peru will face this game with the vast majority of the players that performed in the 2019 Copa América, including the return of captain Paolo Guerrero to the team. The only major absence for La Franjirroja will be Christian Cueva, who was ruled out for the first game of this tour due to his poor fitness level.
