Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen on taking over Tottenham Hotspur should current head coach Mauricio Pochettino be sacked. Speculations that have emerged indicated that the former Southampton boss could potentially face the boot should his side's fortune fail to change.
Despite making it to the Champions League final and ranking among the top four Premier League clubs last season, Spurs have experienced a downward spiral in terms of their performance this term. Under the tutelage of Pochettino, the White Lilies have managed just two wins in their last 10 matches in all competition - losing five and drawing the remaining three.
As things stand, Spurs rank ninth on the Premier League table with just 11 points from eight outings, a development which many believe should lead to the sack of Mauricio Pochettino. With the likelihood increase by day, former Chelsea and Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been tipped as the man to potentially replace the Argentine. Since vacating his post as the head coach of Manchester United, the 56-year-old has been heavily linked with moves to Real Madrid and the likes.
However, the Portuguese previously claimed the right offer had not arrived yet, hence his decision to stay away from any dugout for now. Although rumors suggest that Florentino Perez could most likely be interested in making the "Special One" return to the Bernabeu, the Portuguese manager also has his sights set on joining Tottenham.
