Are the Norwegian manager's days numbered at Old Trafford?

Manchester United fans all around the world are calling for the immediate sack of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following Sunday's defeat to Newcastle. The Red Devils staged an uninspiring performance at the St James' Park to fall to a 1-0 loss which has ensured that they are now two points adrift the relegation zone on the Premier League table.

With the Old Trafford side losing a number of key players to injuries, Solskjaer fielded a relatively weakened side against the Magpies in the Gameweek 8 affair. While showing very little urgency in front of goal, the men in red squandered the very few goalscoring opportunities which presented itself throughout the proceeding.

A thunderous strike by Matthew Longstaff in the 72nd minute was more than enough to inflict more pain on an out of sorts Manchester United side that has failed to win a single away match since March 2019. In essence, the day's feat took the record of the 20-time Premier League champions to two wins, three draws and three defeats.

At the moment, the team ranks 12th with just nine points from a possible 24 and has two points more than 17th-placed Everton. With the fortunes of the side failing to experience a change, fans are calling for the imminent termination of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's contract despite the club's chief executive Ed Woodward recently reiterating the board's faith in him.

The Norwegian manager who replaced Jose Mourinho in December 2018 as Manchester United manager has so far managed 19 wins from 40 matches while falling to clinching nine draws and suffering 12 defeats. Albeit his win ratio standing at 47.5 percent, supporters have insist that the club is better off without him.
