The uncertainty surrounding Victor Valdes' future as Barcelona's Juvenile A coach has leaped to an unprecedented height with the former set for showdown talks with the Spanish giants. A statement released by the Catalan club on Friday evening indicated that a sit-down has been scheduled for next week.

Valdes, in recent times, has dominated headlines in most Catalunya newspapers for his clashes with high ranking staff at the Camp Nou outfit as well as his controversial statements and actions. Having previously stated that he "could be in trouble" if he addressed the Neymar transfer saga, the former Los Blaugrana goalkeeper followed up by getting sent-off in his first game the U-19 coach.

Now Catalunya Ràdio has reported that the 37-year-old ex-Spanish international was involved in an serious altercation with the head of La Masia, Patrick Kluivert. The confrontation is said to be as a result of the former shot-stopper feeling frustrated about the fact that some high ranking officials staff are getting in the way of his job.

With the war of words refusing to die down, Barcelona released a statement summoning Victor Valdes to a sit-down - one which could have a bearing on his immediate future. The statement read:

"Víctor Valdés, coach of Juvenil A, will not be traveling tomorrow with the team to the League game that will be disputed at 12:00 hours against the Gymnastics of Tarragona at the Municipal Camp of La Pobla de Mafumet.

"Next week, the FC Barcelona Technical Training Secretary will meet with him to analyze his continuity to the position."
