PSG reaches unwanted Ligue 1 milestone in shock Reims defeat

The French capital club slumped to an unexpected defeat at home in their midweek tie.

Reigning Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain has seen its incredible goalscoring run brought to an end following Wednesday's defeat to Reims. Les Parisians were stunned 2-0 at Parc des Princes to end to 44-game scoring run in the league.

Thomas Tuchel side's second defeat of the season was ushered in with Hassan Kamara head home for the game's opener in the 29th minute. Deep into the 94th minute, a spectacular kick by Boulaye Dia sealed surprise win for Reims who now sits eighth on the league log with 11 points.

The significance of the outcome of Wednesday's encounter is that for the first time in 44 Ligue 1 games, PSG has failed to score - the club's longest run in the history of the French top-flight. Furthermore, Reims became first team to secure victory in the league over the French capital outfit at the Parc des Princes in since Rennes in May 2018 (2-0).

Prior to the clash, PSG was unbeaten in its last 22 home games in the top-flight (W20 D2). Despite picking up a loss on Wednesday, Tuchel's side still sits atop the French domestic league with 15 points from seven outings,
