Unfortunately for the Spanish side, their joy was killed when they realized that the Red Devils had only lowered one million from the summer transfer tag slapped on Pogba, which may deter their interest.
Pogba has not been shy when discussing his future, and his agent has also stepped up to ask Manchester United to let the player leave. Nevertheless, Woodward and Co. have not changed their stance on the player's future, especially since they want to see the investment made on the player's signing paying off.
Earlier this week, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez spoke about Pogba's failed transfer this summer, stating that negotiations were doomed from the beginning due to Manchester United's reluctance to transfer the footballer.
While Manchester United seems to be keen on offloading the footballer, the massive price tag may fend off all potential suitors for good. Added to that, Manchester United would find it easier to extend Pogba's contract, as has been reported earlier this month.
