What is the form of Brazil compared to Peru?

Peru have played 11 games in total in 2019, six of which came in the 2019 Copa America tournament. They have won five and lost five, drawing on one occasion.

Brazil, meanwhile, have not lost a single game since their 2-1 defeat to Belgium in the 2018 FIFA World Cup quarter-finals. That’s a run of 17 games unbeaten, with the Selecao winning all but three of those fixtures (W14, D3).

Brazil vs Peru head-to-head record

Understandably, the Selecao boast the superior head-to-head record in this fixture. They have only suffered four defeats to Peru in history. That last loss wasn’t long ago, however, coming back in June 2016.

Players to watch

Neymar

The attacker made his return to the Brazil squad in their friendly against Colombia and immediately showed why he is one of the nation’s most important players. The PSG superstar assisted the opening goal before scoring a second-half equalizer in the 2-2 draw.

Tite was right when stating that the world’s most expensive almost always has a hand in the Selecao’s goals. After missing his nation’s Copa America success, many started asking if there was a need for the former Barca man. He has and will continue silencing his doubters.

Ederson

Now this might seem like an odd pick on face value but there is one huge reason for keeping an eye on Ederson. Despite being Man City’s undisputed custodian and being recognized as one of the best goalkeepers, he has struggled to find playing time due to a man called Alisson Becker.

However, the Liverpool shot-stopper is out injured and thus Ederson was trusted to play in between the sticks. The game against Colombia did not go great, as he conceded twice, but he will be keen on a clean sheet against Peru, something that Alisson failed to do in the Copa America final.
