The odds of Scotland qualifying for Euro 2020 are slim. Five games have been played so far in Group I, with The Tartan Terriers winning two but losing the other three. This leaves them with six points, six behind second-placed Russia and nine behind Belgium.
Speaking of Belgium, the Red Devils boast a perfect record so far in the qualifying round, winning all five of their games. Roberto Martinez’s men have scored 15 times and have only conceded once and are thus the favorites to win the group.
While Scotland boast the inferior head-to-head record, they have enjoyed four victories from their 19 encounters with Belgium. However, their last win was back in October 1987.
Games played: 19
Scotland wins: 4
Belgium wins: 12
Draws: 3
The home side will be without Grant Hanley and Liam Palmer, both of whom pulled out of the squad after picking up injuries. In their place, David Bates and Mikey Devlin were called up.
The Red Devils will also be without a few players, namely Eden Hazard. The Real Madrid superstar, who is yet to make his competitive debut for Los Blancos due to injury, remains on the sidelines and will play no part during this international break. His younger brother Thorgan Hazard is also unavailable, as well as Dedryck Boyata.
