Real Madrid will take on Atletico Madrid in another edition of the Madrid derby and Cristiano Ronaldo has already expressed his confidence at getting a win over their local rivals.
Real Madrid will enter tonight's match in buoyant mode after securing a place in the UEFA Champions League Quarter finals for the first time in seven years. It would have come as a huge relief for Jose Mourinho and he will want to make sure that his side carries that momentum into tonight's match.

Real Madrid have not lost to their local rivals for the past 12 years- with the last defeat coming in 1999. While the Madrid derby has always been a fixture to remember, this edition's importance to Real Madrid is beyond any doubts after Barcelona dropped points at Sevilla last week. Nonetheless, Cristiano Ronaldo agrees that a win against Atletico would be absolutely crucial to their title hopes.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who returned to the Madrid line-up against Lyon after missing two games with a hamstring strain, said of the Atletico match: "We need to continue our good run. We're confident. Beating Atletico is a priority, as well as that a derby is a derby. It will be difficult, but I'm confident of winning."

Considering that this match comes on the back of a successful week which saw Madrid progress beyond the last 16 of the Champions League for the first time in seven years, Ronaldo insisted that it will be important to continue this run of form.

"It's a great joy, we are very happy. It's going to give us confidence and morale, and we need to continue like that."
