The Reds have lost an upcoming gem.

Promising Liverpool teenager Bobby Duncan has completed a permanent transfer to Serie A outfit Fiorentina on Deadline Day. The England international signed for the Violets in a 2-million-pound deal to end prolonged saga with the Reds involving him and his agent.

Hailed as one of the brightest emerging talents in English football, not much was seen from Duncan with the Liverpool senior squad prior to his departure. Still, his exploits with the youth setup did not go unnoticed with the striker bagging 32 goals for the Under 18 side after joining just a year ago from Manchester City.

The season's performance earned him the opportunity to be included with Jurgen Klopp's side for this summer's pre-season tour of the United States. However, the long-term development of the player with the Reds could not manifest following an apparent fallout with his agent, Salif Rubie.

Not too long ago, the European champions were forced to deny allegations of "mentally bullying and destroying" the striker's career in a bid to prevent him from sealing a move elsewhere. As a compromise to end the saga, the club resorted to allowing the 18-year-old attacker and his agent get their desires.

Following Sunday's win over Burnley at Turf Moor, Jurgen Klopp was quizzed on his side's dealings with Bobby Duncan and the German manager affirmed that he is one player his side "really care".

According to Mirror, Fiorentina will pay the Liverpool £1.9 million "plus a 20 per cent sell-on clause" for Bobby Duncan. As per the Athletic's James Pearce, the striker's agent Rubie was not involved in negotiating the deal to took him to the Serie A.
