The Reds usurped a record set almost three decades ago.

Reigning European champions Liverpool has set an all-new club record with Saturday's away win over Burnley. The Reds cruised to an emphatic 3-0 victory in the encounter at Turf Moor, reaching the landmark of 13 successive wins in England's top flight as a result.

Coming into the game on the back of last weekend's 3-1 victory over Arsenal at Anfield, Jurgen Klopp's men opened the scoring in the 33rd minute through a Chris Wood own-goal. Four minutes later, Sadio Mane doubled the lead with Roberto Firmino adding the finishing gloss in the 80th minute after assisting the Senegalese forward for the second goal.

The outcome of the match meant that Liverpool has now emerged victorious in every match in England's top flight since March 3rd's stalemates with Everton. The Reds' winning run now stands at 13, a feat that has laid waste to the 12-game winning streak set in the old First Division between April and October 1990. Quite interestingly, the Reds mounted a charge that saw them clinch their last league title at the end of that season.

Looking past the collective master stroke, Brazilian striker Roberto Firmino also left a mark with his involvement in the goals in the weekend's trip to Burnley. The 28-year-old attacker's striker saw him reach a 50-goal milestone in the Premier League. As a result, he became the first-ever Brazilian to attain a half-century of goals in the competition.
