Spurs will be making the trip to the Emirates Stadium but recent form suggests they will not come away with a win.

Arsenal and Tottenham are gearing up for a highly-anticipated showdown this Sunday. The north London derby is undoubtedly one of the best derbies in world football and every time these two sides lock horns, excitement is guaranteed.

The Emirates Stadium will be the venue of this weekend clash and it will be interesting to see how Spurs will fare after their shocking 1-0 defeat to Newcastle. Pochettino will be eyeing a return to winning ways but unfortunately, the numbers don’t back that.

A look at Tottenham’s recent form when on the road in the North London Derby shows how poorly they have fared at the Emirates. While Pochettino’s men won 2-0 in their most recent trip to Arsenal, it should be noted that the victory came in the League Cup, not the Premier League.

In the English top-flight, Spurs have not won an away game against the Gunners in almost nine years. Their last victory at the Emirates in the league came way back in November 2010, back when they had the likes of Bale, Modric, Van der Vaart, and Aaron Lenon in their squad.

Bale scored in that game, alongside Van der Vaart, as Harry Redknapp’s side fought back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 over a Wenger side led by Fabregas and Nasri. Since then, Tottenham had made eight trips to Holloway, London and have lost five times, drawing the remaining three.

Spurs have conceded four or more goals in three of those eight visits, losing 5-2 in back-to-back trips to the Emirates Stadium and throwing away a 2-1 lead to lose 4-2 last season. This means the Champions League runners-up have let in 20 goals in those aforementioned game, conceding an average of 2.5 goals every game in those eight trips.

Nonetheless, Sunday will be a new opportunity at putting this awful record to rest. Harry Kane and Co. will need to be at their best when they clash with Aubameyang and his pals. While it is hard to predict the scoreline, we know for sure this will be an interesting encounter.
