The French midfielder has reacted to the racial abuse he suffered on social media after the draw against Wolves.

Paul Pogba finally breaks silence after online racial abuse Manchester United stalwart Paul Pogba has finally issued a response to the racial abuse he suffered on social media following Monday's penalty miss in the 1-1 draw with Wolves. On Sunday, the 26-year-old French midfielder took to Twitter to slam the derogatory act with his teammate Marcus Rashford becoming the latest victim of abuse.

With his missed spot-kick at the Molineux denying Manchester United the opportunity to secure the maximum points, Pogba came under heavy criticism and was subjected to racial abuse on social media. Many voices, including the ex-Juventus star's teammates came out to show solidarity towards him by condemning the actions of the perpetrators.

However, the renewed attempt to combat racism and hate speech against players on social media seemingly fell on deaf ears with Marcus Rashford becoming the latest victim. The 22-year-old England international received a similar treatment as Pogba after he wasted another Manchester United spot-kick in Saturday's shock 2-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace.

Following the end of the proceeding, head coach of the Red Devils Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, once again, slammed Rashford's abusers. Paul Pogba, who has been silent on the matter, shared a touching post on Twitter on Sunday to address the week's happenings.

"My ancestors and my parents suffered for my generation to be free today, to work, to take the bus, to play football," he tweeted.

"Racist insults are ignorance and can only make me stronger and motivate me to fight for the next generation."

As part of the attempts to fully alleviate cyber bullying and racial abuse on social media, the Sunday Times claims that Twitter will monitor the accounts of some high-profile black players to get a better understanding of the abuse taking place. Reports that emerged from England last week also revealed that representatives from the social media platform have decided to meet with Manchester United and Kick It Out, an international organization on a mission to combat racism in world football, to address these occurrences.
