LIGA MX: Matchday 6 preview, including Tigres vs América

August 22, 2019 By Oscar Rojas
The biggest rivalry of the decade in the Mexican top-flight will write another chapter after their Leagues Cup encounter this week. Get a hold of it with our detailed Liga MX preview.

Matchday 5 in the Apertura 2019 tournament saw Querétaro and América leapfrogging Santos to take the top spot of the league. This week, both of these sides will have a tough time in keeping their unbeaten streaks, as they will face two complicated opponents in the upcoming weekend.

The White Roosters will host León in Saturday's first game, but the real standout clash is the one between Tigres and América. Elsewhere, Santos will try to go back to winning ways when they clash against Rayados, while the highly-motivated Chivas returns to their stadium to face Necaxa.

The lower side of the standings will see Puebla -with a new coach-, Toluca and Veracruz fighting for their first win of the season, something that will need more than a smile from their coaches.

Matchday 6 in the Apertura 2019 tournament will begin with three games on Friday, while four of them are scheduled to be played on Saturday. Juárez will be handed a bye due to the odd number of teams involved in this competition.

Without further ado, here are the major talking points ahead of the sixth week of action in the Apertura 2019 tournament.

Querétaro vs León

The Apertura 2019 leader will face their toughest match up to this date when they lock horns against León. The Clausura 2019 runners-up have a fine squad, a capable coach and they play a nice brand of football, which makes us predict that the first game scheduled to be played this Saturday could easily become one of the best in the tournament.
