Live Soccer TV presents a brief look into how the Europa League has shaped up after last night's action ahead of the draw for the Quarter-finals.

Last night's Europa League action brought a lot of action and drama into the lively Europa League this season. Only eight teams are left in the competition now. Only eight teams have the opportunity to make history at the end of the season.

The draw for the quarter finals will take place tonight and bearing in mind that there will not be any seedings for this stage, some very interesting match-ups can be expected. But first, Live Soccer TV provides a brief look into some of the interesting topics regarding the Europa League this season.

British Downfall And Portuguese Success: How Did It Happen?

Last night's action saw all three British clubs being knocked out of the Europa League. Rangers, Liverpool and Manchester City failed to perform when it all mattered and as a result, it's a total wipeout for Britain's hopes of lifting the trophy.

Liverpool lost the first leg in Braga 0-1 and it proved to be costly as they battled out a stalemate at Anfield and Sporting Braga effectively knocked out Kenny Dalglish's team. Meanwhile Manchester City did score at home against Dynamo Kyiv but it wasn't enough to prevent them from winning the tie 2-1 on aggregate.

Rangers, who managed to hold PSV Eindhoven to a scoreless draw in Holland last week, failed to make home advantage count as they succumbed to a 0-1 defeat to the Dutch champions.

But, the Portuguese clubs have been a revelation so far in the competition. Sporting Braga, FC Porto and Benfica have all proved to be a force in Europe and it is looking increasingly likely that one of them could even feature in the final at Dublin.

FC Porto defeated CSKA Moscow 3-1 on aggregate while Benfica edged past Paris Saint Germain with a 2-1 aggregate victory. Braga held Liverpool to a 0-0 draw as mentioned and won the match 1-0 on aggregate.

Eight Teams Still In The Reckoning: Who Has The Best Chance Of Winning The Europa League?

As mentioned, the clubs from Portugal have not only been consistent this season, they have also been impressive with their attacking display. Falcao of Porto has been magnificent in Europe this season with 7 goals already in the tournament.

However, another team that has a great chance of winning the trophy is Villareal. The Spanish side have been good too with Guiseppe Rossi firing on all cylinders. Also be prepared to expect a strong challenge from high-scoring Zenit St. Petersburg. The Russian side are the top scorers in the Europa League this season with 24 goals and an average of 2.4 goals per match.

Dynamo Kyiv have already knocked out Manchester City and with the likes of Andriy Shevchenko and Artem Milevskiy on their side, Dynamo definitely are a force to be reckoned with.

However, FC Porto's form both in the domestic league as well as the Europa League makes them the ideal favorites to lift the Europa League trophy. A set of strong players and a great manager—under the name of André Villas Boas—has empowered the team in a remarkable manner, making them the most feared team in the Europa League this season.
