The Reds are seen by many as top contenders to end their title drought in the English top-flight, but Gary Neville has other plans.

The tug of war between Liverpool and Manchester United loyals has added yet another chapter to its rivalry, as former Manchester United player Gary Neville aimed a dig at the current UEFA Champions League holders.

Speaking in his capacity as a Sky Sports' pundit, the former Valencia boss referred to the eternal rivalry between Reds and Red Devils, and unsurprisingly, he hinted that Manchester United will battle for the Premier League title this season, with a chance to see his favorite team win the championship before Klopp's men, even if the Reds are seen as top contenders in the 2019-20 season.

"I can guarantee you as clear as day, Manchester United will win again. They'll probably win the league before Liverpool, in my opinion," Neville said.

The former right back looked into the decisions that could lead Manchester United back to greatness, while comparing other teams that are currently thriving in the EPL right now.

What I'm saying is, Liverpool, City, Tottenham , all these clubs have had poor recruitment policies over the last 25 or 30 years at times. So United are going through one at the moment. Eventually they will stumble upon the right recruitment system, the right recruitment people, they'll get a great manager – hopefully that's Ole – and they'll start to win again. That's going to happen,"Neville added.

The UEFA Champions League winner in 1999 and 2008 looked at a bright future for the Red Devils if the right decisions are taken, regardless of the time it takes for the club to return to greatness.

"It genuinely does not concern me because it can be corrected by a little bit of money on the stadium and good decisions in the boardroom and good decisions in the recruitment department," Neville concluded.
