The US international was named to start for the Blues in Wednesday's cup game.

USMNT star Christian Pulisic is set to make his full Chelsea debut in Wednesday's UEFA Super Cup Final. The 20-year-old attacker and his teammates will battle with Premier League rivals and last season Champions League winners Liverpool in search of their first silverware of the season.

Pulisic's inclusion was received in good faith by fans of the Blues who slammed manager Frank Lampard for his omission from the starting lineup in Sunday's 4-0 rout against Manchester United. The former Borussia Dortmund star had minimal impact on the game after replacing Ross Barkley in the 56th minute.

Relatively, N'Golo Kante who started from the bench against Manchester United was passed fit to feature in the first eleven for Wednesday's clash with Liverpool after limping around at Old Trafford. The French midfielder's compatriot Olivier Giroud was also handed a starting berth while injury returnees Antonio Rudiger and Willian were named on the bench.

For Liverpool, summer signing Adrian featured in-between the sticks in place of the injured Allison Becker. Sadio Mane, Joel Matip and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are the three outfield players that altered the starting lineup used in Friday's 5-0 thumping of Norwich City.

Below are the confirmed lineups of Liverpool and Chelsea ahead of Wednesday's UEFA Super Cup Final:
