The Blaugrana side has come up with a new player-plus cash deal, at Messi's request, to see the Brazilian back at Camp Nou.

Real Madrid's interest in signing Neymar prompted an unexpected reaction by Barcelona, as Lionel Messi himself has reportedly stepped in to put an end to the transfer saga and see his friend returning to the Catalan club.

Earlier today, a report by Spanish newspaper Marca revealed that Messi learned about the ongoing negotiations between Los Blancos and Neymar, and in order to avoid the Brazilian's arrival to the team's bitter opponent, he decided to phone Neymar to try and convince him that he should return to the team where both of them were part of the fear-inducing MSN attack.

The report states that Messi took matters into his own hands to make Neymar feel fine about this life-changing decision. The Argentine believes that if he can live with the fact that his Brazilian friend left the club to join PSG, the rest of the team and even the fans will eventually understand his decision.

Neymar reportedly appreciated the gesture, since he needed to know first-hand if Barcelona's locker room would allow him to return to the team.

As of now, negotiations are believed to be underway, but a tug of war is expected between the two Spanish giants. Real Madrid is ready to offer three players to lure Neymar to the Bernabeu, while Barcelona is offering a similar package to PSG, which includes a $100M offer for the player, with Philippe Coutinho being involved as part of the deal.

PSG is said to be demanding money for the transfer with no players involved, but in the event of such negotiation, they would favor an exit to Real Madrid, given their sour relationship with Barcelona execs.
