Former Juve exec urges Serie A side to sign Ibra

Former Juve exec urges Serie A side to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic

August 13, 2019 By Oscar Rojas
Luciano Moggi, one of the men responsible of Juve's relegation in 2006, would like to see the Swede back in the Italian top-flight.

Even if Zlatan Ibrahimovic is getting closer to 40, the Swedish ace is recognized as a force to be reckoned with.

His physical presence and skills are still desired by top-caliber clubs in Europe,  and those skills could come in handy for a Serie A side that needs to re-kindle its once glorious past.

Speaking in an interview with Firenzeviola.it, former Juve exec Luciano Moggi urged Fiorentina to try and sign Ibrahimovic in the near future. According to the mastermind behind the Calciopoli scheme that saw the bianconeri relegated to Serie B, "Ibra" would do wonders to the club even at 37 years of age.

"Zlatan's body allows him to give more than expected from a footballer, even at his age. He resembles Cristiano Ronaldo. He's collecting wins everywhere he goes, especially in the U.S. Yes, that's not Serie A-type level, but you have to reach your goals wherever you go, and if he joined Fiorentina, young players could learn a lot from him," Moggi said.

The 82-year-old exec admitted that Ibrahimovic may not be in his prime, but he surely can get the job done.

"It's obvious that he is not in the best shape we've seen him, but Ibra can get the job done even today. He is as scary to other team's defenses as he was in his prime," Moggi added.

Juve's former exec was the main man behind Ibrahimovic's arrival to the bianconeri back in the day, but when the team was relegated due to a match-fixing scheme in 2006, the Swedish ace decided to leave the club.
