Santos keeps their perfect form in the competition ahead of América and Querétaro. Meanwhile, a shaky use of VAR keeps making headlines.

The Apertura 2019 is in full motion, and some upsets and surprises have stolen all headlines after four weeks.

Santos is yet to drop one point, and their top spot in the Mexican top-flight is uncontested. Querétaro and América led the pack for a few hours, but a 4-1 win for Los Guerreros returned them to the top spot in Liga MX.

André-Pierre Gignac's tribute couldn't have gone better. The Frenchman scored a hat-trick in less than 25 minutes to see Tigres rise through Liga MX ranks and to the top spot of the goalscorers' chart. Elsewhere, Chivas and Cruz Azul secured wins this weekend, but their fans have to be cautious not to praise their teams that much, since they defeated two recently promoted teams.

Sunday's clash between Toluca and América was a bit tricky to judge. The hosts dominated Las Águilas for the better part of the game, but a massive counter-attack by Renato Ibarra secured a crucial win for Herrera's men, who are still undefeated in this tournament despite their massive number of absences.
