Chelsea fans took to Twitter to express their dissatisfaction after new signing Christian Pulisic failed to earn a spot in the starting eleven of Frank Lampard's first game in charge. The 20-year-old attacker would have to wait to make his full debut some other time having completed his transfer from Borussia Dortmund to the Blues this summer.
The USMNT star who has been tipped as the direct successor for the departed Eden Hazard impressed massively in the preseason. The attacker's most notable feat was scoring a brace against RB Salzburg in his side's last but one outing of their tour in Asia this summer.
Despite his prowess, Pulisic was overlooked by Chelsea boss Frank Lampard in the starting lineup for Sunday's Premier League clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford. Instead, the Blues' manager handed academy star Mason Mount his full debut while deploying Pedro and Ross Barkley on the left and right flanks respectively.

England striker Tammy Abraham was also the preferred choice leading the attacking with Olivier Giroud on the bench. Lampard's choice of personnel has not gone down among fans of Chelsea who believe Pulisic should have featured in the starting lineup considering the magnitude of the encounter.
No Pulisic in Chelsea starting Eleven. Like having to watch The Office without Steve Carell

Chelsea fans : " Christian Pulisic is being eased in, calm down and don't worry, it's the first game "

Me : " How do you explain Tammy and Mount starting then? "
Chelsea fans : " Mount and Tammy are so ready, they have blue blood! "
Disappointed to see Pulisic left out.
Christian Pulisic had to start today. I don't care about easing him in, he's played enough games so that he's fully fit and at the end of the day, you start your best attacking players available. I'm not happy about this.

The only reason Mount starts ahead of Pulisic is because of Kante's absence & the fact that we were exposed in midfield in preseason. This will change next week. It's not rocket science.
