The 2019/2020 Bundesliga season is set to kick off soon, and Live Soccer TV is on hand to provide all the info you need to follow your favorite German side throughout the season.

Another season of the Bundesliga is soon upon us, and German football fans will be looking forward to see if the 2019/2020 term will be as dramatic as last year's. For once, the title race was actually a title race in 2018/2019 as it wasn't a one-horse affair as it has mostly been in recent times.

Teams like Bayer Leverkusen also had strong campaigns and now are back in the Champions League for the first time in several seasons, and there's a new team in the Bundesliga for the first time in their history.

Here's all you need to know ahead of the 2019/2020 season.

When does the Bundesliga start?

The 2019/2020 Bundesliga season will begin on August 16, 2019, with Bayern Munich in action at home against Hertha Berlin.

Which teams are playing in the Bundesliga?

Here are the 18 teams who will be competing in the Bundesliga this season:

  • Augsburg
  • Hertha Berlin
  • Union Berlin
  • Werder Bremen
  • Borussia Dortmund
  • Fortuna Düsseldorf
  • SC Freiburg
  • Hoffenheim
  • FC Köln
  • RB Leipzig
  • Bayer Leverkusen
  • Mainz
  • Borussia Mönchengladbach
  • Bayern Munich
  • SC Paderborn
  • Schalke
  • Wolfsburg

Who are the current champions?

Not surprisingly, Bayern Munich are the champions once again of the Bundesliga. The Bavarian giants have enjoyed a long period of dominance, and will be the team to beat again this season. However, die Roten had to work a lot harder last season to retain their title, and that made for a much more exciting title race last term as Borussia Dortmund pushed them all the way to the final matchday. Unfortunately for die Schwarzgelben supporters, der Klassiker proved to be probably the deciding factor, as Bayern crushed Dortmund 5-0 and ended up winning the title by two points - despite both teams winning their last game on matchday 34.

Dortmund were leading the way at one point, but stumbled mid-way as Bayern got their act together and started to close the gap. From a neutral perspective, fans will hope to see another great battle between these two sides - and possibly another dark horse or two this season!
