The Italian striker could join the likes of Filipe Luis, Dani Alves and Juanfran, who have secured moves to the Brazilian top-flight in recent days.

Mario Balotelli's next adventure may see him join not only a new team in a new league, but he might also end up "jumping the pond" while at it.

Earlier this week, reports from France and Italy started suggesting the possibility of watching the Italian footballer joining a Brazilian side. Now, reports by Globoesporte and other media outlets in Brazil confirm that negotiations between football's "Bad Boy" and Flamengo are in the final stages, and the former Inter and Milan striker will join the red-and-black side as soon as image rights' earnings are sorted out between the parties.

Balotelli would join Flamengo in an effort to win the 2019 Copa Libertadores title, with the Quarterfinal stage of the competition scheduled to be played later this month. "Balo" would join players such as Filipe Luis, Rafinha, Gabigoland Gerson, who recently signed deals with the Brazilian giants.

Balotelli scored eight goals in 15 games for Marseille during the second half of the season, since Nice's coach Patrick Vieira decided to snub the footballer during the first semester of the year. After a few years away from the spotlight, "Super Mario" returned to his previous form, scoring 33 goals for Nice in his first two seasons there, while also earning a spot in Italy's National Team under Roberto Mancini.
