The Special One spoke to Sky Sports about his former club's future under Lampard and shared his views on how his former pupil can succeed as a coach.

Former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has never lost sight of his former team, and considering that he is not involved with any club right now, the Portuguese tactician found it adequate to share his thoughts on what the upcoming season will bring for what can arguably be called his favorite team in England.

During one of his interventions as an analyst for Sky Sports, the Special One revealed that Frank Lampard could be just what Chelsea needs, even if the club is currently hit by a transfer ban.

Mourinho went as far as to suggest Lampard to do something no Chelsea coach has done in recent years: to trust players from the club's academy. The former Blues' boss referred to Kurt Zouma and Tammy Abraham as two footballers that are ready to be part of Lampard's team.

"I think Chelsea is a very special club in relation working with players from the academy. I just give an example: Chelsea needs a centre-back – Kurt Zouma! You don't need to buy, you don't need to spend. Zouma!"Mourinho said.

"You want a young striker? Tammy Abraham! He's yours. He knows the club. He was made at the club, he was educated at the club. He was on loan, he played already some matches in the Premier League, he plays in the Championship but Championship at the highest level with the responsibility to play at a big club like Aston Villa. He's ready," Mourinho added.

According to Mourinho, Lampard will only need to solve one major issue in his first coaching gig.

"The only problem for them is obvious which is that they lost a phenomenal player. Eden Hazard was a special player for Chelsea and they lost him, apart from that I don't see any problem for them," the former boss concluded.

Mourinho has been out of the coaching world since he was sacked by Manchester United earlier this year. The Special One turned down a couple of offers from Portugal and China, waiting for one more chance to lead a team from a top-tier league.
