This isn't great news for Solskjaer ahead of the new Premier League season.

The Premier League season is yet to begin but Man United are facing a huge worry in the defensive department once more. The Red Devils are working hard to bolster their back-four but have now lost one man to injury before signing a top defender.

That man is Eric Bailly. The Ivorian picked up an injury during the pre-season and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted after the friendly against Tottenham that it did not look good.

The former Villarreal man was carried off the pitch during the win over Spurs before leaving the stadium on crutches. The 25-year-old was thus sent home to recover, with the pictures of him upon his return to Manchester raising fears.

Bailly was on a wheelchair on Friday and was wearing a leg brace, with only two weeks remaining before the new English top-flight season kicks off. While the jury is still out on the extent of his injury and the exact duration he will spend on the sidelines, Solskjaer will have to find a solution for this setback.

The Red Devils' defense was nothing short of atrocious last season and their attempt to strengthen their back-four has now been rocked with this injury. This might force the 20-time Premier League champions' hands in the transfer market.

The Old Trafford side are reportedly keen on Leicester ace Harry Maguire but the Foxes are playing hardball over his asking price. Brendan Rodgers has stated that his side will not budge for anything less than $99M, which Man United might be forced to pay now.
