The English club remains interested in offloading the striker, but they have one good reason to try to speed things up.

The Red Devils have named their asking price for Romelu Lukaku and have even turned down two offers from Inter Milan for his services. Now, the English side is prepared to end all speculation regarding the striker by issuing an ultimatum to the Italian club.

According to a report by the Mirror, there is a $26M gap between Manchester United's asking price and Inter's most recent offer for the player. Added to that, a loan deal with an option to make the move permanent was dismissed by Manchester United execs, which brings us to the Red Devils' final request: Inter must submit one more bid for the player in the next seven days in order to finalize the deal.

If this does not happen, Romelu Lukaku will remain a Manchester United player, even if coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has deemed the Belgian as surplus to the team's requirements.

Manchester United's request has to do with the end of the summer transfer window. The English side wants to have enough time to fill Lukaku's void before August 8, which would give them about one week if this deadline is met.

Inter's new boss Antonio Conte has previously praised Lukaku in his press conferences, even naming him as his No.1 priority for the 2019-20 season.

Both sides met on Saturday, with Manchester United winning the match thanks to a lonely goal by Mason Greenwood, who has been labeled as Lukaku's would-be replacement. Lukaku and Conte shook hands after the end of the game, where Lukaku was an unused substitute.
