Football's governing body in Spain will have to rule on this matter before the Spanish top flight begins next month.

La Liga's president has dropped a massive bomb in regards to Antoine Griezmann's transfer to Barcelona. Speaking to Onda Cero, president Javier Tebas has admitted that the possibility of cancelling the deal that saw the Frenchman join Los Blaugranas earlier this month is real, mainly due to the circumstances that surround the aforementioned move.

"It is possible to block a player's transfer,La Liga will have to decide what course of action to take," Tebas said.

The president of football's governing body in Spain suggested that Atlético's foul-play complaint against Los Blaugranas might be heard due to the nature of the document they submitted hours after Barcelona announced the deal.

"Atlético submitted a complaint and put in doubt whether we should pass Griezmann's license to Barcelona. There's a process that has been put in motion and those overseeing it will have to come to resolve the case," Tebas added.

Earlier this month, Barcelona triggered the player's $133M buyout clause included in his contract with Atlético, but Los Colchoneros have reasons to believe that Los Blaugranas reached a deal with Griezmann in March, when his buyout clause stood at $222M. Hence, Atlético wants Barcelona to pay the rest of the money they think they're entitled too.

Atlético boss Miguel Ángel Gil stated back in June that he knew Griezmann was headed to Barcelona even before he posted a video urging the team to transfer him. Furthermore, the club went on to unveil Joao Felix with a No.7 jersey, even before Griezmann's deal was announced by the Catalan giants.

While this matter will be solved by Spanish authorities, something tells us that the tug of war between these teams is just getting started.
