Tigres and América raised their fans' hopes by winning their respective gamed with the exact same score.

The 2019 Apertura tournament in the Mexican top flight kicked off on a high note. Some teams confirmed themselves as title contenders, while others gave their fans nightmares with their poor performances.

For starters, América and Tigres earned their first three points after similar 4-2 wins against Monterrey and Morelia, respectively. América's win against Monterrey represents the first big win for Las Águilas, since they defeated one of the teams that beat them last season.

On the other hand, Chivas confirmed their fans' worst fears with their 3-0 defeat against Santos. The voices claiming for Tomás Boy's sacking are increasing with each loss, and if the team can't correct its current course, they will have a hard time in their battle to avoid relegations.

Cruz Azul surprised most with their goalless draw against Necaxa, especially due to their penalty miss and a disallowed goal. In fact, Necaxa could have won the match with a spot kick, but their striker was not able to find the back of the net.
