The Spanish boss referred to his player's situation in harsh terms due to Die Roten's interest in his services.

Pep Guardiola has all but given his OK to see Leroy Sane leave the club, especially due to the player's lack of commitment to Manchester City.

Sané has been linked with a high-profile transfer to Bayern München, but negotiations have stalled due to Manchester City's demands. Speaking about the issue, Guardiola admitted that the club has offered Sané a contract extension, but if he fails to sign a new deal, the Citizens should let the player leave.

"We want people here to be happy. Let's help him in the best way possible. I've told the club ten times to tell them that I don't want any unhappy players here. If my players are not happy here, then they should be transferred," Guardiola said.

The German footballer has reportedly failed to sign a contract extension due to his lack of protagonism during the final stretch of the 2018-19 season, but even so, Guardiola urged the player to try and show his worth with the English champions.

"He knows and everyone knows that earning a spot in our lineup is difficult, mainly because of the caliber of our players. He has special skills that are hard to find in the world of football," Guardiola added.

The former Bayern boss did not hold back when asked about his interest in keeping Sané around.

"The club has offered him a contract extension last year, of course we want him to stick around," Guardiola concluded.
